What Is Vapor Honing?

Vapor honing (also called vapor blasting or wet blasting) uses a slurry of water and fine abrasive media propelled by compressed air. Unlike dry sandblasting, the water cushions the abrasive particles, which means:

• No dimensional change to precision surfaces — safe on cylinder bores, bearing journals, and threaded areas
• A smooth, satin finish that looks better than new
• Cleans and peens the surface simultaneously — closing pores and improving corrosion resistance
• No heat, no warping, no embedded media

The result is an aluminum surface that looks straight from the factory — ideal for show bikes, restorations, and anyone who takes pride in what’s under the covers.

Turnaround Time

Standard turnaround is 5–7 working days from the time we receive your parts. We’ll contact you when your parts are ready for pickup or have been shipped back. Rush requests may be accommodated — call us to discuss.

Our Process

1. Inspection & quote — Bring your parts in or send us photos for an estimate. We’ll tell you if a part is a good candidate.
2. Pre-clean — Parts are degreased and inspected before going in the cabinet.
3. Vapor honing — We run your parts through our Weekend Warrior cabinet with the appropriate media and pressure for the material.
4. Rinse & dry — Parts are thoroughly rinsed and dried. Bare aluminum should be protected quickly after honing to prevent oxidation — we can advise on clear coating or anodizing options.
5. Pick up or ship back — Local customers pick up in Wailuku. Neighbor island customers receive their parts via USPS Priority Mail.
